I loved a girl when I was young and she stole my heart away just like a pirate in days of old, she was a buccanneer of my soul, a robber of my emotions.
But now that I am more mature I can see she was no more than a foolish pirate ship, passing in the dark night.

We all make mistakes. Let's hope she was a looker. To break your heart over a dog would be a sin.

I've been called a few things in my time; but never a 'foolish pirate ship'.
You're better off without her. I hope you rogered her stern.
